The Royal Virginians are directed by 32 year old Joe Enroughty of Richmond, Virginia. It all began in the Spring of 2004 when Joe decided to put a dance band together that was designed for the dancers and listeners, not just for the musicians. The results were very pleasing and word began to spread.

This orchestra has performed all over Central Virginia bringing the finest danceable music to delighted crowds! The orchestra has also played across the state of Virginia. Recently we've branched out and performed in the states of Maryland, West Virginia, and North Carolina to capacity crowds and we are now booking performances in New York City, Atlanta, Georgia and other popular cities across America. Wherever the orchestra performs, the crowds are large and the dancing is plentiful.

The Royal Virginians entertain dancers and listeners alike with selections including "As Time Goes By," "Crazy Rhythm," "In The Mood," "Unforgettable," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," and so many more great standards. Swing era favorites include "Sing, Sing, Sing," "Take The 'A' Train," "Woodchopper's Ball," "Tuxedo Junction," and "The Dipsy Doodle," to name but a few. Two very talented vocalists, Cathy Saydlowski and Dick Orange add the perfect touch to this fantastic Big Band Orchestra.

With over 200 different arrangements on hand for every performance, the Royal Virginians are like a musical encyclopedia of American Popular Song.
